BIG NEWS and Sketchy Thursday 2-24

Hi!! I have SOME BIG NEWS to share!! I made NUTS ABOUT SKETCHES design team!!! I am so excited!!

We had to create a layout based off this sketch:

I used some wonderful pictures of my son posing for Grandma down by the river. My son is completely happy and content being outside and exploring hence the title "Our Nature Lover." I 'recreated' or extended the river feeling with layers of brown, gray and green. I also die cut some circles to mimic the rocks in the photos. To continue the scene I added layered die cut clouds. I finished the layout off with two rows of brads to tie in the color scheme!

I want to sincerely thank everyone who applied. I know it takes a lot to put yourself out there.

Every single time I put a dt call out I always think that it will be easier to choose. Well, I was wrong yet again! It's a process I don't really enjoy, but it has to be done.

I don’t usually have JUST two pictures of an event, memory or topic, but my hubby and I almost FORGOT to take ANY pictures on our 3rd wedding anniversary. As we came into the driveway we remembered to snap some pictures.

We had so much fun, just us, out at dinner!

I used this week’s Sketchy Thursday sketch. I did some layered strips and added some coordinating ribbons to make them pop. I also did a cluster of flowers around the right photo. The sketch also had a spot in the top right corner which I just LOVED because  I knew I could put three brads. This also represented our 3 years together and was a great spot for some journaling. I, of course, did some extra journaling on the back (see close up). I finished the layout with some doodling!
