Project Life Thoughts and Week One

Hello. Yep, once again I disappeared and I didn’t plan on it. I had a rough first week of the year and I just couldn’t get out of my rut. I wanted to be honest and let you know why I was gone. I was just a little blah and lots of grumpy. And there were so many things to get done like Christmas cleaning, organizing cupboards, cleaning out  closets and trying to figure out a plan for Project Life this year.

All week I kept reading about Project Life on various blogs and the HUGE posts from Becky Higgins and Jessica Turner. It really had me thinking about my plan; this will be my FOURTH year. I know I went crazy in 2011 with the huge of pictures which resulted in four books. And I was a total nerd and did the calculations for the cost and it was staggering. I also calculated the cost for using templates digitally and printing which was still expensive. Plus, I wanted to figure out where I stand with my scrapbooking since I have hardly scrapbooked in about a month. Basically, my creative life feels a little crazy and without a plan.

And then yesterday I had my AHA! moment. I was do a basic Project Life format (since I already bought the supplies from Amazon) using only my favorites from the week- minimal extras. I will also make a digital Project Life book using all the extra photos. And I came up with a plan for the rest of my creative endeavors.

The plan:
- Project Life 2012 physical version: basic format with my favorite photos

- Project Life 2012 digital version: this will include favorite photos and any extra photos from the week. the book will 12x12 and I will print it at the end of the year
- Scrapbooking: I am moving into story based layouts using Stacy Julian’s Library of Memories system. Since the majority of photos will showcased in Project Life; I want to scrapbook in a way that tells a story.

- Photo Books: Lots more of these from Shutterfly

Whew! Now I have a question for YOU!!! What do YOU do with all the extra photos from the day?
